ASSOCIAZIONE NAPOLIDANZA

L' Associazione " NAPOLIDANZA", nata nel 1990, ha come scopo la divulgazione della danza e delle iniziative culturali ad essa collegate, nonche' lo scambio di esperienze tra quanti operano in questo settore.

Nei sei anni di attivita' questa Associazione ha realizzato:

- sei edizioni del concorso di videodanza "Il Coreografo Elettronico", il cui obiettivo è quello di incentivare e promuovere l' attivita' di ballerini, registi, coreografi, scenografi, musicisti, videomakers, e di incoraggiarne la stretta collaborazione artistica. L'iniziativa contempla l' assegnazione di premi per i migliori video selezionati e la promozione dei lavori piu' interessanti nell' ambito di programmi televisivi. festivals, rassegne.

La manifestazione si propone dunque di favorire la circolazione di idee e di fornire incentivi per la crescita di questa forma d'arte ancora ai suoi inizi.

The Napolidanza Association, in collaboration with Regione Campania and Comune di Napoli,has the pleasure of inviting you to take part in the 7th Edition of the International Videodance Competition "Il Coreografo Elettronico". This year, the Competition has been enriched with the photografic Exibition" A Century of Dancing' and with a seminar on Videodancing.

The 7th edition of the international "coreografo elettronico" competition, organized by napolidanza and directed by marilena riccio and elisa vaccarino, is scheduled in september 1996 at the museum of villa pignatelli in naples.

The competition is open to companies, choreographers, dancers and operators from the world of tv and film who can present, on magnetic disk or tape, one or more professional works regarding dance for the following categories:

A) recordings of shows or studio processing of shows;

B) video creations;

C) films of or about dance or in any way connected with dancing;

D) television documentaries;

E) works including dance and movement in any form (e.g. music Video clips with original choreography);

F) computer-aided works for graphic arts, animation and special effects.

Material must be sent as specified below no later than 31 july 1996.

All partecipants must:

1) specify the categorie or categories in which they aim to partecipate;

2) send the videocassette(s) in vhs and betacam or vhs and bvu formats;

3) enclose a brief outline of the contents of the video(s);

4) enclose all the information regarding the choreography, direction, music, interpreters, production, production date, duration of video in minutes, in additions to completing the entry form (for each video presented);

5) enclose a number of photographs regarding the video(s);

6) pay a subscription fee of 200,000 lire into the current account c/c no. 27009088 cab 03411 abi 10 10 (opened at Banco di Napoli agenzia 11, Via dei Mille 18/24 - 80121 Napoli) in the name of napolidanza and enclose the relative receipt of payment.

This is required to ensure compliance with the entrance requirements and for the correct compilation of the catalogo.

The juri will be presided by: Renato Nicolini , and composed by: Margaret Williams, Sonia Schoonejans, Fabio Bruschi, Massimo Bertolaccini, Rossella Battisti, Luciano di Giandomenico,Massimo Tosi,Vincenzo M. Siniscalchi, Mario Costa, Pasquale Scialo'.

The jury will select the works for public performances and for entry into the competition. The jury also reserves the rigth to make special acknowledgments and commendations regarding interpreters, composers and directors.

The proclamation of the winners will take place during a formal reception which will be held at the closure of the competition.

Videocassettes must be sent each with an accompanyng card to the following address ( by but not later than 31 july 1996.)

The material sent will become part of the napolidanza association's video library, which is used solely for cultural purposes.

The napolidanza association offers pre-establisched hotel accomodation assistance, by request to any and all participants.
