HALAVELI MALDIVES


A garland of islands

Ancient travellers once knew it as Maladiv, meaning a garland of islands. Maldives - an independent Republic of 1.100 islands 417 miles west of Shri Lanka nestled between Seychelles in the west, Shri Lanka in the east and the Chagos Archipelago in the south is home to some of the most fascinating marine flora and fauna in the world. The shallow reefs that surround the islands provide sanctuary to thousands of varieties of fish.
      Of the 1.100 islands only 200 are inhabited; the rest are virgin islands out of which 75 are resorts. Each island houses one resort and is completely dedicated to the relaxation and enjoyment of its guests.
